Mostly Good Studios presents, CERAMIC SAMPLER, a beginner friendly ceramic workshop hosted at Heart of Gold Astoria! Enjoy experimenting with clay in a warm and welcoming environment under the instruction of artist Kaitlyn Sather. Learn the fundamental approaches to hand building with techniques like coiling, slab building, and the pinch pot method to help inform your creation. In this Ceramic Sampler experience we’ll design and sculpt a ceramic work using food safe stoneware clay! Ticket includes 1 draft beer or soft drink! Your work will be glazed, fired & ready for pickup at Mostly Good Studios (located at 920 35th avenue in Astoria) in 2-3 weeks!

Ceramic Club presents Ceramic Slumber Party!! A movie night (with clay & friends)!! Enjoy a cozy night of movies and making at Mostly Good Studios. A low instruction, process-y, play based ceramic club session. Slumber parties are sculpting only (no painting!), with very little instruction / demonstration so as to not interrupt the movie! We’ll go over the basics at the top of the session before settling in, and then you’ll be off sourcing inspiration for your art from the screen.

6 WEEKS OF HAND BUILDING AT MOSTLY GOOD STUDIOS - ALL LEVEL
SUNDAYS 10-1PM OCTOBER 11-NOVEMBER 15
Over 6 weeks, learn and explore various hand building methods like slab building, coiling, pinching, and modeling. This hand building course is great for anyone looking to learn more about working with clay, build on and gain confidence in their already developed skill set, or commit to their art practice with time set aside once a week to learn and grow! We will be working with an intimate cohort of no more than 12 people, so each student will receive individualized attention based on their interests and goals. Whether you’re a beginner or have been working with clay for some time, this class will meet you where you’re at and give you space and tools to grow. All final work will be fired at no additional cost. All students will have unlimited access to our open studio sessions at no additional cost.
